# Directly endorsing metadata items

{% hint style="info" %}
Metadata items can only be directly endorsed by Stewardship Organisation Administrators, or Registry Administrators.
{% endhint %}

Registry Administrators can directly apply a registration status to a metadata item using the registration authority of their choosing, rather than needing to submit the item for review first.

### How to directly endorse a metadata item

1. Navigate to the metadata item you wish to endorse and select its 'Actions' dropdown.
