# Harvester

{% hint style="info" %}
The Harvester can only be accessed by registry Administrators.
{% endhint %}

Aristotle’s Harvester makes requests to the Open Archive Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) and returns records from that repository. It allows registry Administrators to create harvest configurations, which periodically harvest data from OAI-PMH endpoint in accordance with its rulesets.

### Functionality of the Harvester

Registry Administrators can use the Harvester to:

* [Manage custom transformation services](/special-features/harvester/managing-custom-transformation-services.md)
* [Create new harvest configurations](/special-features/harvester/creating-new-harvest-configurations.md).
