# Organisation Records

Only a Stewardship Organisation Administrator can create or link an organisation record.

ISO 11179 defines an organisation as a 'unique framework of authority within which a person or persons act, or are designated to act, towards some purpose'. The Aristotle Metadata Registry further defines any organisation that is not a Stewardship Organisation as an 'organisation record': a non-stewardship organisation responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of one or more metadata items.

### Functionality of Organisation Records

Organisation Records can be:

* Created
* Managed
* Deleted
* Linked to pre-existing metadata items in the registry.
