# Closing and deleting a discussion

A discussion can only be closed or deleted by a Manager of the relevant workgroup, or the user who created it.

When a discussion is no longer needed, it can be closed by either a Manager of the workgroup it belongs to, or the user who initially created it.

## How to close or delete a discussion

1. From the desired workgroup's page, select the 'Discussions' tab.

2. Select the discussion you wish to close or delete.

3. **If you wish to close the discussion**, select 'Close' or 'Close Discussion'.

4. **If you wish to delete the discussion**, select 'Delete post and all comments'.

**Note:** This will close the discussion, and remove it from the workgroup permanently, along with any information contained within its comments.
