# Compare different versions of a metadata item

From an item page, you have the ability to compare historical versions of content. \

To compare different versions of an item<br>

> 1\. Go to the items page

> 3\. From here, you can compare any of the versions listed

4\. Select what you would like to compare

5\. The two items selected will be compared and you can view the differences between the two

> In the example above, the "Definition" field has the clickable icon next to it, and you can view the differences between the two versions for that field:
